UAE to India Gold Limit 2026: How Much Gold Can You Bring Duty-Free?

The UAE is one of the best places to buy gold because of its quality and competitive prices. If you are travelling from the UAE to India, it is important to know the latest customs rules.

Under India’s Baggage Rules 2026, eligible Indian passengers returning after staying abroad for more than one year can bring a limited amount of gold jewellery duty-free.

Male passengers : Up to 20 grams of gold jewellery.
Female passengers : Up to 40 grams of gold jewellery.

The jewellery should be worn as personal jewellery, such as a chain, ring, bracelet, or earrings, while travelling. This duty-free allowance applies to gold jewellery, not to gold bars, coins, or biscuits.

If you carry gold above the permitted limit, you must declare it at Indian Customs and pay the applicable duty.

Before You Fly
Wear the jewellery as personal use items.
Keep your UAE gold purchase invoice.
Declare extra gold if it is above the allowed limit.
Check the latest customs rules before travelling.

Travel Warning : Gold rules and customs regulations can change. Before carrying gold from the UAE to India or any other country, always check the latest official customs rules. Stay informed and travel responsibly to avoid fines, delays, or legal issues.
